A medium sized company had outgrown their offices and needed to move. A turnkey solution was required so that they
could move over a weekend and be working without missing a stride. They also required a fully featured, future proof phone
service that could adapt to their needs quickly and easily and without extravagant upgrade charges.
SystemTalk provided them with a full Hosted IP telephony service. All the lines for their broadband and fax were ordered and
installed in advance and tested.
The Hosted phone service was ordered and the numbers were approved and agreed and installed in the week prior to the site
going live. The site was fully tested and all necessary services such as voicemail, call conferencing, hunt groups set up.
When the practice moved over the weekend they were able to resume business seamlessly.
When new lines have been required they have been set-up and installed same day. Fault and user management is done on line
and since no site visits are required there is no monthly maintenance charge.
Should they need to move again the only change will be to unplug the infrastructure and move to the new site, all numbering,
configuration etc will remain the same and cost will be minimal.
Case Study 2 - Manufacturer and Retailer (bespoke kitchens)
A small manufacturer and installer of high class bespoke kitchens and bedrooms (the Beckhams are numbered amongst
their clientele) were forced, due to redevelopment, to move from their Clapton factory that they had occupied for 20 years.
Their number (020 8xxx xxxx) was of supreme importance to them as it could be a period of years before a repeat order was
made but they had a very high customer loyalty and much business was obtained via word of mouth. They were relocating to Hitchin.
By using the Hosted IP service we ported their London based number and they successfully relocated to Hitchin using the same
number. They did not lose any customers as a result of the move and continuity of contact was maintained with their customer base.
Case Study 3 - Retail chain (clothing)
A nationwide chain of clothing shops needed to install broadband to improve their stock control. We installed the broadband
to their sites and also set-up a Hosted IP telephony system.
This cut all their intra-site calling costs to zero and allowed for other cost efficiencies such as removing surplus landlines
and premises equipment. Their overall call charges (excluding savings on internal calls) are lower than previous.
They were quoted £35k as they cost of setting up a premises based IP solution using a new PBX and equipment at their shops. We
set up the new system for around £8.5k.
Case Study 4 - Education sector
A business that specialises in the care of difficult or excluded schoolchildren needed to expand their office to provide more
meeting rooms but did not have the space. They investigated the cost of moving which was prohibitively expensive compared with the
benefit of the extra space. We resolved this for them by installing a Hosted IP telephone service and allowing the Managers to work
from home thus freeing up their offices for use as meeting rooms. Because all the Managers have their IP phones at home, they are
all connected to the network and calls are transferred back and forth without issue. Additionally when dialing from the home
based IP phone their number is presented as the main number and their customer base need not be aware that they are at home
rather than at the office. This has resulted in increased efficiency, cut down on travelling costs and has allowed more flexibility
in work patterns. We again ported the phone number from their original provider and should they need to move premises there will be
continuity of contact.
Case Study 5 - Hertfordshire based Estate Agents
A small firm of Estate Agents needed a new phone system and evaluated the Hosted IP service against a BT Versatility PBX and
found that the cost of installation and set up were around 66% less than the fixed solution. As an additional benefit the running
costs were also more favourable. They went with the Hosted service as it saved them over £2,000 of capital costs and being a
web-based service didn't require a maintenance contract keeping the running costs very low.
SystemTalk are very happy that business has improved for them and they have recently opened a second branch in a different
Hertfordshire town. Since they sensibly adopted a Hosted service at the outset, they now benefit from no cost calls between
each site, the ability to transfer calls to and from each site at no charge and could use a single number for both sites.
It also means that in case of a major incident at either site the phone services can be operated from any site with broadband.
This means that in case of a major outage no calls need be lost and no reduction in revenue or lost customers.
Again the capital costs of installation and set-up were low and familiarity with the service allowed them to open for business
in a short space of time and be up and running on the first day.
